My name is Daniel Ellis, and I have been living here in New York City for a little over eight years. I love this city and knew it would be my home when I visited here with my senior class in high school 13 years ago. What I did not know is that I would be starting my own business of bringing people from all over the world to this very special place and showing them just how magical it is. I originally came to the city to pursue an acting career and with some moderate success was getting burned out with the various jobs I had to take to survive. I then decided to go on a mini vacation to London, England and went on a Jack the Ripper Tour which was led by a local actress. The tour was fascinating and I realized I didn’t need to wait tables or do any other crazy jobs to live in the city and study my craft of acting. I knew that I would be a great guide for the city since I received a B.A. in History Education (k-8th grade) from Longwood University in Virginia, I love people, and I am enthralled with New York City. Receiving my license to guide people around the city, I started out on red Double Decker buses giving tours and then moved up to step on guide work and walking tours with various companies. I realized that I wanted to be able to create better itineraries for the groups as well as provide better service that was personalized and not mass produced. As a result, Show Me Tours has been born and I hope will continue to grow. · Docent for the FDNY Fire Safety Education Fund’s learning center the Fire Zone
· Used as a guide by various companies to give tours of the city to students, business executives, and senior citizens.
